I had been a nurse for 4 years before I decided to go to massage school in 2015, something that had been in the back of my mind and on my heart to do long before then but it just never was the right time. It wasn’t until I started working in Labor and Delivery and seeing first hand some of the muscle and joint issues that come with pregnancy and birth, did I decide to finally start the journey to become an LMT.
Afterwards, I mainly worked on fellow nurses and doctors, fully understanding the strain that our job takes on the body. I was able to use myofascial and deep tissue techniques to decrease stress and tension, while addressing chronic muscle pain and poor posture in my coworkers. Now, I also use my skills to provide that same care for women going through pregnancy and postpartum.
I strongly believe that massage is an important part of preventative health care. I have benefitted in so many ways from massage and want to help other people experience their body’s full potential and a healthier life!
